Claudio invites you and your friends to join us on an
exclusive tour in Spectacular Slovenia and the sparkling Dalmatian Coast
of Croatia. We will meet you at the BRNIK airport terminal, Ljubljana on
Day 1 or if you would like to spend five glorious nights in the
beautiful Veneto prior to the tour we have a lovely itinerary available
for you. You would then travel to Slovenia with Claudio and meet up with
our other guests to start this tour.
An exciting tour in
leisurely and relaxed style, staying in great accommodation and
indulging in delicious food and wine (Claudio’s way).
DAY 1 – 1 June: ARRIVAL
SLOVENIA (D) Your tour starts in Slovenia where we
will meet guests at the BRNIK airport terminal Ljubljana. Settle into
our accommodation, a lovely and very typical Slovenian pensione where we
will stay for three nights whilst enjoying the delicious home cooked
food and being spoiled by the friendly family owners.
DAY 2 – 2 June: LAKE
BLED, BLED CASTLE (BD) Today we visit LAKE BLED,
famous as one of the loveliest in Europe, and featuring the tiny wooded
island 'Maria of the Lake', crowned by an idyllic baroque church amidst
its glittering blue waters. We will also visit BLED CASTLE dating back
to the 11th century is the oldest castle in Slovenia. Perched high on a
cliff overlooking Lake Bled, the castle offers spectacular views of the
surrounding lake and mountains.
DAY 3 – 3 June: AUSTRIA – THE
MAGNIFICENT ALPS (BD) This morning we will set out
towards the border and into AUSTRIA where we will enjoy a very scenic
excursion into the magnificent Alps. The landscape will be one of
mountains, lakes and valleys, quaint villages with typical alpine
houses.
DAY 4 – 4 June: IZOLA (BD) We will arrive at the
small coastal town of IZOLA, a warm and hospitable old fishing port. The
crooked narrow streets of this charming old town feature attractive and
interesting architecture from centuries past. Wander at leisure through
the alley ways, where the old stone houses divulge something of the
history of this former island settlement. With its cafes and shops plus
the spectacular panorama of the Adriatic Sea, Izola is a delight.
DAY 5 – 5 June: PIRAN &
BOAT TRIP (BD) Today we will take a boat trip to
visit PIRAN, the jewel of the Slovene Mediterranean. Medieval Piran has
always lived from the sea and today this tradition continues - its
people still harvest the salt and fish. The ancient town centre is a
maze of cobbled alleyways and narrow streets filled with 13th century
architecture.
DAY 6 – 6 June: PORTOROZ (BD)
We will visit the nearby town of PORTOROZ. With 100 years of old spa
tradition, Portoroz is a cosmopolitan 'riviera' style resort, which
boasts as its main feature, a floral promenade justly giving the town
its name - 'The Port of Roses'. There are some magnificent walking paths
along the foreshore amidst the picturesque Mediterranean scenery,
sloping vineyards, rich lavender and rosemary bushes. A casino,
fashionable shops, cafes and restaurants add to the town’s holiday
atmosphere.
DAY 7 – 7 June: THE DALMATIAN
COAST, CROATIA (BD) After a leisurely breakfast we
say farewell to Slovenia and travel along the sparkling DALMATIAN COAST
of Croatia. We will reside for three wonderful nights in a lovely hotel
in the town of VODICE, a former fishing village and now a pleasure port
and popular tourist centre. The historical centre is small and
picturesque with plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can relax and
enjoy the panorama.
DAY 8 – 8 June: TROGIR (BD)
A small city with 2300 years of tradition and a rich culture created
under the influence of old Greeks, Romans and Venetians. You will find
wonderful palaces, churches, towers, and a fortress situated on a small
island – TROGIR is a real delight and certainly deserves its nickname
“The Stone Beauty”.
DAY 9 – 9 June: CRUISE TO THE
KORONATI ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK (BD) Today we will
enjoy a lovely and leisurely cruise to the Koronati Islands National
Park. A maze of unspoiled and uninhabited islands scattered in the area
make this part of the Adriatic a sailor’s paradise. The coastlines of
the islands are marked by steep cliffs which make them unique and very
dramatic. On some of the hills of the Kornati Islands traces of
settlements and fortifications dating back to the Neolithic period have
been found.
DAY 10 – 10 June: TRANSFER TO
DUBROVNIK – “PEARL OF THE ADRIATIC” (BD) This morning
we depart our hotel in Vodice and travel further along the sparkling
Dalmatian Coast to reach our next destination DUBROVNIK, Croatia’s most
visited destination. Known as the “pearl of the Adriatic” because of its
incomparable architectural heritage and beauty. We will stay in a great
hotel for the next three nights and have the chance to explore and enjoy
this magical city.
DAY 11 – 11 June: DUBROVNIK (BD)
Today we will visit this wonderful city with its gleaming marble streets
lined with baroque buildings and beautifully sculpted Renaissance
fountains and facades. The city’s walls are the most intact and
impressive in the Adriatic. Dubrovnik is more than a fascinating old
town with an ancient history, it is also a renowned Adriatic holiday
resort.
DAY 12 – 12 June: CRUISE IN THE ADRIATIC (BD) The
best way to experience the true beauty of this spectacular area with its
crystal-clear sea is by boat and today we’ll take an exciting and very
scenic cruise passing by wooded islands and rocky coastlines. A truly
relaxing and unforgettable day.
DAY 13 – 13 June: DEPARTURE from
DUBROVNIK Airport (B) Sadly today we say our
farewells and after a leisurely breakfast (and perhaps another early
morning dip in the pool), you will be transferred to the airport in
Dubrovnik for your journey home or to other destinations. This day to day itinerary may not
necessarily run exactly in this order. Expect some pleasant
surprises... Dovidjenja!
